home.

it's pretty crazy when you have been waiting for something to happen for two years...
and then it actually happens.
we're really attractive people.
my brother is (finally) home from his mission in frankfurt germany.
our family is whole and complete for the first time in two years
and it feels absolutely amazing.

it feels so good to have everyone home.

randoms:

-we went to see iron man three today. it was wonderful. i highly recommend it.

-less than 13 months left till i get my other missionary back. almost halfway done.

-we went to outback steakhouse for aaron's first meal back in america. the waiter forgot to put my order in and spilled water on my leg. on a better note, the steak was delicious and i ate an alarming amount of an awesome blossom. (extra awesome please.)

-we went to tmobile to get aaron a phone when he came home. being the lazy children we are, we waited on the chairs in the store while my parents figured things out. i got really excited because i thought that my chair was special because it reclined. nope, i had just broken it. oops.

-i keep seeing all of these prom pictures on Facebook and it makes me slightly sad that i am not going this year. really i'm just in it for the dresses... and the cute date.
the good 'ol days.

introduction.

i am on my third online class right now.
(family foundations, heyooo)
in all of these classes they make you introduce yourself.
you know the classic
"tell us about yourself, include a picture, and say something interesting about yourself!"
i never really realize how boring i am until i have to do these introductions.
i normally say something like
"i'm anne, i'm from colorado springs and i work at a daycare and this is my picture."
classy, right?

but what i really want to say is...

WASSSSUP. da name is spider-anne, and one day i will be spider-man. just wait and see. i really wanna be a mommy and i will be someday, daggumit. if you leave me alone with a bag of chips for 3 minutes those chips will no longer exist. i also consume alarming amounts of dark chocolate. i am really sarcastic and synical and there is a large chance you do not like me but that's alright because i don't like people as a whole so i probably will never talk to you. this also has to do with the fact that i am painfully shy around people i do not know. i am much smaller than the average person, and yes my driver's seat is pulled all the way up in my car. i can't eat most foods that the general population can eat and it really sucks lemons. i have the immune system of a drug-abused fetus and it is not the most handy thing in the whole world. here is my picture. bask in it.

i feel like my colleagues would know me much better this way.

my life as of late:

-sometimes i start out my mornings really grumpy. (not a fan of waking up at 6 am everyday). but then i get to work and these little chubby children run up to me grinning their four tooth smile from ear to ear with their arms outstretched, just wanting to be cuddled. my attitude changes in about .00358 seconds.

-my friends are starting to finally come home from college and it is so awesome to have interaction with people my own age. on saturday i got to go to chick fil a, watch parks and rec, help his little brother figure out something to do with a girl and have elegant conversations like classy old people with one of my best friends. the same kid who also gave me this for my birthday:
THAT is a genuine little sebastian. beautiful.

-we were learning about adam and eve in my sunbeams class. one of the ladies i teach with said "eve was a woman, the first woman actually!" and one of my brilliant three year-olds said very matter-of-factly, "ah, yes. she had boobs."

-9 DAYS PEOPLE. SINGLE DIGITS. i am freaking out.

DALBEAR.

i might have stolen that name from the ever beautiful amy.
she mixes most two-syllable names with the word bear.
and you know what?
it sticks, dagummit.
here, enjoy this picture of amy and i in the seventh grade.
WOOF.
let's all take a moment to be glad we aren't in seventh grade anymore.
anne, is this post about amy?
i thought it was about a half dallin-half bear?
well world,
CONGRATS.
on account of you are correct.
except its about a whole dallin,
not a half dallin.
because it is this whole dallin's birthday on tuesday:
i'd smooch that.

this certain dallin is my favorite dallin in the whole world.
anne, what's so great about this guy?
he looks a little odd to me.
well world, that was rude.
let me tell you about this crazy fool.
this studly fella is my best friend and my better half. he makes me laugh harder and smile bigger than anyone else. he makes me do hard things that i do not think i am capable of. he always believes in me and tells me that if i am trying my best i am making him proud. he has an incredible testimony and is sharing it with the people of france. he orders things that i can eat when we go to restaurants so that we can share even though the boy bleeds cheese. he gives me all things spider-man even though he hates him. he never gives up on me. he works hard in everything he does. he challenges me to continually strive to be better. he is a gentleman. he always reminds me that he loves me. he makes me the best me i can be.

our birthdays are only three days apart so we have gotten into a habit of celebrating together. this year (and next) we are a little too far apart to celebrate together, and it's turned out to be a lot harder than i thought it would be. although some times i really wish he was home i am so proud of him for taking two years out of his life to serve the lord, and i know he is right where he is supposed to be.

happy birthday my dallin pete!
see you soon.

AS OF LATE:

-remember when i said that dallin gives me everything spider-man even though he hates him? he did not disappoint this year.
spider-man, spider-man, irons on where ever he can!

i haven't decided what should be permanently graced with spidey's presence yet.

i also got this:
just call me elder smith.

how did he know that i secretly really wanted his name tag? no idea.

-i got to watch (kinda, mainly listen) as one of my very best friends opened his mission call.
we were some good lookin' six year-olds.
the piracicaba, brazil mission is gettin' a good one.
proud of you, caseface.

-i also got this AWESOME shirt from my not-so-sister-in-law jenah.
i love me some ron swanson. also some jenah.

letters.

so apparently there is this huge new crazy blogging craze.
you write all of these letters to random things and people.
i keep reading them on pretty much every blog ever invented.
so i decided
"shoot. i could do that."
so here i am.
doing that.

dear sinus infection,
i am considering cutting off my nose because of you. you have caused me to kill an entire rainforest in the amount of tissues i have used.
all my hate,
killer of trees.

dear feel-good music,
you make me feel good. continue that.
rock on,
smiles and mush.

dear missionary,
10 MONTHS DOWN. see you in fourteen.
love and rockets,
missing you.

dear best friend lost in rexburg,
did you get that reference i just used? i can't wait till we can hang out and eat copious amounts of popcorn and talk until the wee hours of the morning again.
come visit me,
carpet.

dear medicine,
you always say your side effects only apply to 3% of people. why am i always the three percent? how many times must i switch medicines??
you almost killed me,
still sick.

dear brother,
34 days. i'm stoked. you better be too.
see you soon,
sista.

dear advil pm,
you are a gift from the heavens. keep making me sleep.
large amounts of love,
too tired.

dear belgium,
i loathe you. quit hoarding my letters you selfish beast.
your worst enemy,
new hater of waffles.

dear other bloggers,
this whole letters thing is not fun. you should probably stop doing it.
never doing this again,
hateful of hipster bloggers.

insert clever title here.

anne, what movies have you watched today?
remember the titans and the blind side.
anne, how many times have you cried today?
...i don't wanna say.

anyways.
i haven't blogged in a little while,
which means i have a lot of things to say.
no, they will not be coherent, organized thoughts.
suck it up, we all have problems.

-remember this post?
remember how belgium had it's second strike?
well, belgium.
STRIKE THREE.
i excitedly opened my mailbox to find this.

remember how belgium crushed my spider-man?
well my really cute missionary sent me another one!
but this time belgium stole my spider-man completely.
i now loathe belgium.

-this week i will start working full-time in the young toddler room. that means i get to spend eight hours of my day with clumsy, chubby one year-olds. be jealous.

-40 DAYS PEOPLE.

-what's that? you haven't watched this video yet? for shame. watch it now.

-my birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and i'm really not excited for it. i've gotten to celebrate my past two birthdays with my best friend and this one i won't be able to.

-today a little girl in my sunbeam class told me very matter-of-factly "i don't see jesus on the moon". me either, dear. me either.

-i got really sick a couple weeks ago. we called the doctor and they said i needed to have my symptoms for at least 4 days before i could go into the doctor. so i died for four days and then went to doctor. when i finally got to the doctor they tested me and confirmed me for strep throat and a sinus infection. i was slightly upset.

-the minute my symptoms from said strep and sinus infection went away i got a heinous cold that still hasn't gone away. i cannot count gallons of herbal tea i have had.

-my new favorite commercial?

-i was at costco yesterday when i saw a little girl (about 3) with dreadlocks for hair. DREADLOCKS. i instantly hated her parents.

-yesterday i experienced what it is like to non-purposely do a donut in your car. twice. not my favorite experience.

alright folks,
i'm out.
PEACE.
(said in the voice of the man at the end of the cha-cha slide.)

55.

DAYYYYYYSSSSSSSSS
until this guy:
comes home.
i cannot wait.
it also happens to be his birthday today!
i cannot believe he is 21.
(when did we all start getting older and how do we stop it?)
aaron is one of my biggest role-models,
and he is the most kind-hearted person i know.
LOVE YOU, BROSEF.
here is your birthday present, aaron. enjoy.
we have one classy father.

lots of randoms today, folks.

-my mom and i were telling my dad that the nasty white stuff on the outside of an orange is called pith. he wouldn't believe us and kept saying that we were wrong, and when we kept telling him we were right he told us to "pith off." i love my dad.

-i was having a hard day at work when out of nowhere david archuleta came through the speakers instead of the regular classical music. i sang my heart out. it's the little things.

-at work the other day i looked up just in time to see the naked butt of a little girl (6 years old) as she had pulled her pants down in the middle of the classroom. i immediately asked her what she was doing and she looked back at me, alarmed, and said "i forgot i was pulling my pants down!". oh children.

-i have been wanting some sanuks for forever. i finally splurged and bought myself a pair and was so excited to wear them to work on monday. i got a giant bleach stain on the front of my right shoe. i almost died. (update: i tried to cover this stain up with a fabric marker. it now looks like someone threw up on one small circle of my shoe. i'm considering bleaching the spot again.)

-that moment when you are really hungry in the middle of the night but instead of chocolate you eat some yogurt and granola so you give yourself five extra points.

-the other day at work i was listening in on a game some kids were playing. i wasn't even there five seconds when i heard a girl say "good news. the kittens were born on saturday. bad news. the kittens were born dead. they didn't have enough blood." ...WHAT??

-i finally got a letter today. (i'm really quite impatient.) i was wearing the exact same outfit as i was last time i got a letter. coincidence? I THINK NOT. will i be wearing this outfit more than i should from now on? you betcha.

peace and blessins'.
(i'm trying to have one of those cool sign-offs that real bloggers have. it's not working.)

today.

is this amazing lady's birthday.
my mom is my best friend in the whole entire world.
when i was up at school i had a really hard time begin away from her,
and i'm not looking forward to leaving and not having her around again.
my mother is everything that i hope to be when i grow up,
and i am so glad that i have her as an example.

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMA!

randomness:

-both of my favorite work pants and my favorite work shoes all fell apart in the same day. those suckers have been with me for almost two years now. rest in peace, guys.

-when i found the first hole in one of my above-mentioned pants i thought it would be fine for a little while because it was on top of the pocket. after further inspection i realized that this hole was not on top of my pocket, i was just looking at my horribly pale leg. darn you, lack of pigment.

-i went to my old high school's basketball game the other day so that my mom didn't have to go alone. i forgot how much fun it was to cheer for your team and be slightly merciless to the other team. it made me miss high school just a little bit.

-my mom found ground turkey meatballs at the store this week. i will not go into details about how many of these delicious little devils i have consumed.

-i was at costco the other day, raiding every sample station i found, when i came upon a sample of vitamins! i went straight for the calcium vitamin (gotta build those bones, people) when the old lady behind the counter practically swatted my hand away and asked how old i was. i told her i was eighteen and she came back with "oh... people just look so young these days!" you had to be twelve to try the sample. TWELVE.

-after all of the ridiculous amounts of hype about pitch perfect, i finally watched it. the hype was for good reason, people. it was amazing. i haven't laughed that much at a movie in a long time.

-three cheers to february for being ridiculously short! 15 months left, heyoo!
